Job summary

Providence Health Plan Group is seeking a Per Diem Registered Sonographer to join Providence Valdez Medical Center in Valdez, Alaska. The role is day shift, 0.01 FTE, onsite and as-needed hours.

The incumbent will perform, interpret, and support ultrasound examinations, gathering patient history and collaborating with physicians to determine testing protocols and clinical management. Prior ARDMS/ RDMS and BLS credentials are required or to be obtained within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Diagnostic Sonography Program or ARDMS certification.
• National Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer within one year of hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• 9 months of ultrasound coursework experience in Abdomen, OB/Gyn including clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Performs all the essential functions of the Registered Sonographer.
• Conducts and evaluates sonographic examinations, obtains clinical history and performs a physical assessment to determine appropriate testing protocol.
• Provides technical interpretation of sonographic and physiologic data to aid physicians in rendering a medical diagnosis.
