Job summary

Providence Valdez Medical Center in Valdez, Alaska seeks a Registered Sonographer for per diem coverage on day shifts. The role is 0.01 FTE and onsite, with duties to perform and interpret ultrasound exams and gather patient history to guide testing.

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited diagnostic sonography program or ARDMS-certified.
• National Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer within 1 year of hire.
• BLS/CPR - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 9 months ultrasound coursework in Abdomen, OB/Gyn with clinical rotation.
• Preferred 9 months ultrasound coursework in Breast and Vascular.

Position is Per Diem, 0.01 FTE, Day Shift, Hours are as needed. Located onsite at Providence Valdez Medical Center in Valdez, Alaska!

Performs all the essential functions of the Registered Sonographer. Performs and evaluates sonographic examinations. Obtains clinical history and performs a physical assessment of the patient's condition to determine appropriate testing protocol. Provides a technical interpretation of sonographic and physiologic data to aid physicians in rendering a medical diagnosis.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training Graduate of accredited Diagnostic Sonography Program or Certification with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• National Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer within 1 year of hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• 9 months - Ultrasound coursework experience in Abdomen, OB/Gyn including clinical rotation

Preferred Qualifications:

• 9 months - Ultrasound coursework experience in Breast, Vascular including clinical rotation.
