Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Full-time MFM Ultrasound Technologist at the MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Maryland. The role includes day shift hours, with some travel to a secondary office as needed.

You will perform diagnostic ultrasound exams for subsequent evaluation and treatment, contributing to one of the region's largest health systems. Preferred candidates have OB/GYN registry and MFM experience; ARDMS certification is expected within 1 year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years diagnostic or ultrasound experience or graduation from an accredited ultrasound program.
• ARDMS registry eligibility within 1 year and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies; scan patient and determine angle for puncture with sterile technique.
• Generate images or film and evaluate quality.
• Clearly document patient clinical information in verbal and computerized reports; maintain records of examination data.
• Secure and return supplies and manage film, linens, medicines, and folders.
• Select and operate ultrasound equipment; adjust technical factors per patient.

Primary Duties:

• Assistsphysician in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies. Scans patient, marks patient's body,determinesangle for puncture,assistsas necessary, andmaintainssterile technique.
• Generates computer images or film through automatic processing and evaluates quality.
• Communicates and documents patient's clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and computerized report format. Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
• Secures and returns supplies such as film, linens, medicine, and patient folders.
• Selectionsdotoperatesequipment as directed. Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.2 years diagnostic or ultrasound experienceorgraduation from an accredited Ultrasound program (registry eligible) with certification in Diagnostic Sonography by AmericanRegistry forDiagnosticMedicalSonography (ARDMS)within 1 Year.
• OB/GYN registry and MFM experience preferred, will consider new graduates
• Basic Life Support (BLS).

This position has a hiring range of : USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
