Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Full-time MFM Ultrasound Technologist at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Maryland. The role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations and supports physician during procedures; Monday through Friday, day shift with occasional travel to a secondary office.

Ideal candidate has 2 years of diagnostic or ultrasound experience or completion of an accredited ultrasound program with ARDMS certification within 1 year; OB/GYN registry and MFM experience

Qualifications

• 2 years diagnostic or ultrasound experience or graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program (registry eligible) with ARDMS within 1 year.
• OB/GYN registry and MFM experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies; scan patient and maintain sterile technique.
• Generate and evaluate computer images; ensure image quality.
• Document patient clinical information accurately in verbal and computerized reports.
• Secure and return supplies and manage patient records.
• Select and operate ultrasound equipment; adjust technical factors per patient.

MedStar Health is looking for a Full-time MFM Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at the MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center!

Monday - Friday, Day Shift, with ability to travel to secondary office as needed

Primary Duties:

• Assists physician in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies. Scans patient, marks patient's body, determines angle for puncture, assists as necessary, and maintains sterile technique.
• Generates computer images or film through automatic processing and evaluates quality.
• Communicates and documents patient's clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and computerized report format. Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
• Secures and returns supplies such as film, linens, medicine, and patient folders.
• Selects and operates equipment as directed. Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED. 2 years diagnostic or ultrasound experience or graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program (registry eligible) with certification in Diagnostic Sonography by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 1 Year.
• OB/GYN registry and MFM experience preferred, will consider new graduates
• Basic Life Support (BLS).

This position has a hiring range of USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
