Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Full-time MFM Ultrasound Technologist for MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Maryland. The role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound exams for obstetric care and fetal assessments, supporting ongoing patient care.

Primary duties include assisting physicians with biopsies, acquiring quality images, documenting clinical data, and maintaining sterile technique. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered for a limited time.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of diagnostic or ultrasound experience or graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program (registry eligible) with ARDMS certification within 1 year.
• OB/GYN registry and MFM experience preferred; new graduates considered with ARDMS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies; scan, mark, and determine angles while maintaining sterile technique.
• Generate and evaluate ultrasound images; ensure quality through automatic processing.
• Document and communicate patient information clearly in verbal and computerized reports; maintain exam records.
• Secure and return supplies such as film and patient folders; manage equipment as directed.
• Selects and operates equipment and sets technical factors per patient needs.

Monday - Friday, Day Shift, with ability to travel to secondary office as needed

Primary Duties:

• Assistsphysician in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies. Scans patient, marks patient's body,determinesangle for puncture,assistsas necessary, andmaintainssterile technique.
• Generates computer images or film through automatic processing and evaluates quality.
• Communicates and documents patient's clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and computerized report format. Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
• Secures and returns supplies such as film, linens, medicine, and patient folders.
• Selectsandoperatesequipment as directed. Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years diagnostic or ultrasound experienceorgraduation from an accredited Ultrasound program (registry eligible) with certification in Diagnostic Sonography by AmericanRegistry forDiagnosticMedicalSonography (ARDMS)within 1 Year.
• OB/GYN registry and MFM experience preferred, will consider new graduates
• Basic Life Support (BLS).

This position has a hiring range of : USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
