Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic sonography across multiple locations in Houston. The role uses RIS and PACS systems and requires ARDMS/ARRT certifications, BLS, and strong communication with patients and radiologists.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, adherence to safety protocols, ongoing training, and collaboration with the Radiology team to ensure high-quality imaging and patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification required.
• RDMS certification required.
• RT(R)(S) certification required.
• Active ARDMS/ARRT within 1 year of hire date; BLS certification required.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to use computer keyboard and digital image acquisition.

Responsabilités

• Performs diagnostic sonography according to policies and protocols of the department and radiology. Conveys instructions clearly to patients.
• Participates in Technical Quality Control and routine equipment maintenance; reports malfunctions.
• Uses RIS correctly and documents for radiologist review; notes atypical conditions affecting image quality.
• Maintains ultrasound safety and sterile technique; adheres to safety initiatives.
• Participates in training programs and maintains current licenses/certifications; may take on additional duties as needed.
• Interacts effectively with patients and coworkers; aligns with Mission and Values in all communications.
