Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for an on-site role at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, NC. The technician will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and collaborate with radiologists to ensure high-quality exams.

Requirements include AMA approved Sonography training and ARRT RDMS preferred, with CPR certification. Prior ultrasound experience is preferred and staff participate in ongoing education and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Sonography program or equivalent.
• ARRT (Sonography) or RDMS preferred; registry eligible must be registered within 12 months.
• Current CPR certification and hospital-based safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures with quality and consistency.
• Assess patient condition and review orders for exam justification.
• Document symptoms and history; obtain signed consent when needed.
• Prepare patient, answer questions, and coordinate with supervising radiologist.
• Record exam times in RIS and ensure timely radiologist access.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety; participate in QA and education.
• Contribute to Performance Improvement projects and training of students.
• Other duties as assigned.
