Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic and vascular sonography with emphasis on patient safety and accurate documentation. You will work under radiology supervision, ensuring timely imaging and quality control within the RIS workflow.

The role requires an AMA-approved Sonography program, CPR certification, and ARDMS/ARRT eligibility or registry within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Sonography program.
• ARRT (Sonography) or ARDMS RDMS preferred.
• New graduates registry eligible must be registered within 12 months of hire.
• Current AHA CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Competent in the technical operations of all equipment in this section.
• Assess patients, review orders/chart and confirm exam reason.
• Prepare patients for procedure and communicate with supervising radiologist.
• Record exam start and end times in RIS for timely access.
• Maintain safe environment per infection control guidelines and patient safety goals.
• Perform QA of exams including image annotation and laterality before interpretation.
• Participate in clinical education of student sonographers and in department PI projects.
