Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams following provider orders. The role requires ensuring patient identity, obtaining clinical history, and maintaining documentation in EMR/PACS with emphasis on patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include equipment operation, image optimization, infection control, and collaboration with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses. PRN schedule, Day shift, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics and cross-sectional and vascular anatomy, including Doppler techniques.
• Must use computer systems for data entry and retrieval; basic MS Office skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak conversational English; communicate procedures to patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams following orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness; obtains clinical history.
• Positions patients and adjusts transducers to acquire optimal images and data.
• Maintains accurate documentation in EMR and PACS; ensures patient comfort and privacy.
• Explains procedures to patients and educates about the exam; maintains workflow.
