Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA, seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform sonographic examinations following established protocols. You will prepare patients, document findings, and ensure image quality to support diagnosis and patient care.

The role requires ARDMS eligibility or certification, ARDMS certification, and BLS. Expect weekend shifts Fri-Sun 8am-9pm with on-call duties; compensation includes a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 and relocation bonus up to $10,000.

• Maintains images and records according to ARDMS standards.
• Participates in continuing education to maintain certification.

• Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
• Performs all Sonographic exams following defined protocols.
• Observant of patients’ conditions; notifies physician or supervisor of unusual occurrences.
• Compiles appropriate records to expedite results.
• Analyzes the quality of images and processes as required.
• Understands and operates electronic information systems.
• Maintains supplies and a clean, organized working environment.
• Takes call after regular hours.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
• Performs all Sonographic exams following defined protocols.
• Observant of patients’ conditions. Notifies physician or supervisor of unusual occurrences.
• Compiles appropriate records to expedite results.

• Maintains appropriate supplies and a clean, organized working environment.
• Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of sonography and meet educational requirements of ARDMS.
• Takes call after regular hours.
• Registered or registry eligible by RDMS or ARRT.

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

• Preferred: 2-3 Years experience as a RT or Sonographer
• Preferred: 2 or more years of experience in a hospital Ultrasound Department.

Education

• Required: ARDMS eligible.
• Preferred: BLS Certification Preferred
• Required: ARDMS certification.

Hours: Friday, Saturday & Sunday 8am-9pm
