Job summary

LewisGale Regional Health System in Salem, VA seeks an MRI Clinical Lead Technologist to provide technical guidance and supervise MRI staff at LewisGale Medical Center.

You will ensure protocols, supervise scheduling and staff development, and maintain equipment and safety standards to deliver high-quality imaging services to patients.

Qualifications

• Three years experience as MRI technologist.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Advanced certification in MRI.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology; ARRT Radiography.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical guidance for staff in the MRI area.
• Coordinates schedules; participates in selection and evaluation of new employees.
• Maintains appropriate supply levels in the work area.
• Ensures MRI protocols are current and available to staff.
• Participates in equipment evaluation and maintenance; ensures functionality.
• Participates in development and implementation of performance goals.
• Performs MRI procedures following defined protocols.
• Operates relevant electronic information systems.
• Engages in continuing education to meet regulatory CE requirements.
• Observes patients’ conditions and safety around the MR unit.
• Administers contrast media when required; follows physician directions.
• Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, managers, and staff.

Hourly Wage Estimate: $36.90 - $55.35 / hour

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Provides technical guidance for staff in the MRI area.
• Coordinates schedules. Participants in selection and evaluation of new employees.
• Maintains appropriate supply levels in the work area.
• Ensures protocols are current and available to staff.
• Participates in evaluation and selection of equipment. In conjunction with staff members, assures that equipment is functioning properly.
• Participates in development and implementation of Performance goals.
• Performs MRI procedures following defined protocols.
• Understands and operates relevant electronic information systems.
• Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of technical information and to meet the continuing education requirements of regulatory agencies.
• Observant of patients’ conditions.
• Administers contrast media as required. If a RN is not available, certified technologists may have access to the emergency medications at the direction of the attending physician.
• Practices safety in the vicinity of the magnetic field of the MR unit.
• Communicates positively and effectively with all patients, physicians, managers, peers and other customers.

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

Required:

Three years experience as MRI technologist.

Previous Supervisory experience

Preferred: Three years experience as MRI supervisor

EDUCATION

Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Registered by ARRT in Radiography.

Advanced certification in MRI

Preferred: In addition to above, completion of formal computer courses

HOURS

Full time, day shift (weekdays only)
