Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA, is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI exams, position patients for optimal imaging, and address patient questions. You will ensure image quality and proper identification while collaborating with Radiology staff.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT MRI certification, and at least 6 months of Radiologic Technologist experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as Radiologic Technologist required.
• Preferred: 1 year MRI or CT tech experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with ARRT MRI certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures with proper patient positioning and contrast protocols.
• Identify anatomy on images and ensure accurate film identification.
• Participate in on-call duties as required.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As aMRI Technologist, you would perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures, by utilizing MRI equipment and your knowledge of anatomy/patient positioning for optimum imaging. You would explain the procedure to the patient and address any questions or concerns he or she may have.

Perform MRI examinations with proper contrast media protocols.
You will identify anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification.
Evaluate quality of MRI procedure and determines if additional imaging is required, prior to communicating procedure information to radiologist.
Participate in on-call duties as assigned to meet department needs.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE
Required: 6 months experience as Radiologic Technologist
Preferred: One year of experience as an MRI or CT technologist.

EDUCATION / CREDENTIALS
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Required: ARRT registered.
Preferred: As above with certification by the ARRT in MRI.

Hours: Full time, day shift (Weekends rotate). Schedule Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. 9 hour mid shifts. Call required.
