Job summary

Louisiana Works, Office of Unemployment Insurance, Baton Rouge, LA, seeks an ORS Specialist 1/2/3/4 to assist with wage audits and identity verifications to expedite unemployment claims processing and strengthen program integrity.

Responsibilities include reviewing claims, cross-matches, audits, and supporting appeals; manage caseloads and respond to inquiries; participate in disaster unemployment operations.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in unemployment insurance, workforce development programs, workers’ compensation, administrative services, or social services.
• Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
• A bachelor’s degree.
• Experience substitution: 30 semester hours equals one year of experience; maximum substitution 120 semester hours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct unemployment insurance integrity investigations to identify improper payments and ensure compliance.
• Review and analyze claims, audits, protests, and related documentation to verify eligibility and overpayments.
• Manage and prioritize investigative caseloads, monitor production and quality standards, ensure timely completion.
• Respond to inquiries from claimants, employers, staff, and the public; participate in appeals hearings.
• Assist with reimbursement processing, claims intake, disaster unemployment operations, and process improvements.
