Job summary

Linde plc in Phoenix, AZ seeks an experienced engineer to support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of analytical and purification systems at ultra-high purity installations.

The role involves safety policy adherence, reading P&IDs, coordinating with Reliability and maintenance teams, and travel to plant sites up to 20% within the U.S. Strong technical writing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Chemistry or Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial environment, including safety management, process engineering, and engineering projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to write and interpret technical procedures and instructions.
  • You are highly organized self-starter with the ability to work independently and across organizational lines to achieve objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and customers.
  • You have ability to travel up to 20% within the U.S., provide after-hours support, and carry a cell phone for off-hours plant assistance.
  • Experience with mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, FTIR, process analyzers, and ultra-high purity gas purification systems preferred.
  • Basic electrical and instrumentation aptitude preferred.

Responsibilities

  • You will understand and adhere to company safety policies, work practices, and operating procedures while reporting safety incidents and near misses.
  • Assist with commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of analytical systems, analyzers, associated components, cylinders, tubing, purifiers, sample pumps, controls, dilution systems, and analyzer suites.
  • Identify, manage, and maintain spare and replacement components for analytical systems.
  • Assist with commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance of bulk gas purification systems, gas purifiers, and filtration systems at ultra-high purity installations.
  • Further, you will work with the Reliability team to develop and maintain operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and preventive maintenance schedules for electronics-specific analytical and purification systems.
  • Read, interpret, and maintain P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, QA requirements, and MOC policies.
  • Communicate effectively with plant maintenance teams and build strong working relationships to support operational needs.
  • And you will travel to plant locations as required and support both field and office-based activities, including occasional after-hours work.
