Job summary

Linde Inc. in Phoenix, AZ seeks an UHP Analytical Systems Support Engineer to join the team supporting analytical systems and purification equipment. The role emphasizes commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and collaboration with Reliability and plant maintenance teams.

Travel up to 20% within the U.S. is expected. Ideal candidates bring a technical degree and 5+ years in industrial environments, with strong communication, procedures development, and problem-solving

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years in an industrial environment with safety management and process engineering.
  • Ability to interpret technical procedures and write instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to safety policies and report incidents.
  • Assist with commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of analytical systems and components.
  • Identify, manage, and maintain spare parts for analytical systems.
  • Assist with maintenance of bulk gas purification systems and filtration at UH purity installations.
  • Develop and maintain operating and preventive maintenance procedures with the Reliability team.
  • Read and maintain P&IDs and wiring diagrams per SOPs and QA.
  • Communicate with plant maintenance teams and build strong working relationships.
  • Travel to plant locations as required; support field and office activities, including occasional after-hours work.

What you will enjoy doing*
  • You will understand and adhere to company safety policies, work practices, and operating procedures while reporting safety incidents and near misses
  • Assist with commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of analytical systems, analyzers, associated components, cylinders, tubing, purifiers, sample pumps, controls, dilution systems, and analyzer suites
  • Identify, manage, and maintain spare and replacement components for analytical systems
  • Assist with commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance of bulk gas purification systems, gas purifiers, and filtration systems at ultra-high purity installations
  • Further, you will work with the Reliability team to develop and maintain operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and preventive maintenance schedules for electronics-specific analytical and purification systems
  • Read, interpret, and maintain P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, QA requirements, and MOC policies
  • Communicate effectively with plant maintenance teams and build strong working relationships to support operational needs
  • And you will travel to plant locations as required and support both field and office-based activities, including occasional after-hours work
What makes you great
  • You have a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Chemistry or Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial environment, including safety management, process engineering, and engineering projects
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to write and interpret technical procedures and instructions
  • You are highly organized self-starter with the ability to work independently and across organizational lines to achieve objectives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and customers
  • You have ability to travel up to 20% within the U.S., provide after-hours support, and carry a cell phone for off-hours plant assistance
  • Industrial gas experience preferred
  • Experience with mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, FTIR, process analyzers, and ultra-high purity gas purification systems preferred
  • Basic electrical and instrumentation aptitude preferred
