Job summary

Linde plc in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a plant operations supervisor to oversee an Air Separation Gas Plant supplying high-purity gases to a semiconductor customer. You will lead and develop technicians, coordinate control room and field operations, and drive safety, compliance, and reliability.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, collaboration with engineering, and a focus on quality and process control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of plant operations management, or 5–10 years with proven leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of analyzers, sampling systems, and control room systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations at an Air Separation Gas Plant for a semiconductor customer.
  • Lead, coach, and develop analytical, instrumentation, electrical, and operations technicians.
  • Schedule and assign work to ensure coverage and continuity.
  • Promote safety, compliance, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate daily activities across control room, field, and Customer Use Point.
  • Ensure production goals, efficiency, reliability, and gas purity.
  • Review performance, trends, and equipment status to optimize operations.
  • Lead troubleshooting for upsets, equipment failures, and supply issues.
  • Oversee analytical equipment performance at Customer Use Point meeting semiconductor-grade requirements.
  • Serve as liaison between plant operations, engineering, and customer technical teams.
  • Support audits, quality reviews, and incident investigations with customer reps.
  • Maintain QA, PSI, variance, maintenance, and compliance records.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, reliability, and engineering to plan outages and projects.

Job description

  • You will oversee operations at an Air Separation Gas Plant supplying high-purity gases to a semiconductor customer
  • Lead, coach, and develop analytical, instrumentation, electrical, and operations Technicians
  • Schedule and assign work to ensure adequate coverage and operational continuity
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and operational excellence
  • And you will coordinate daily activities across the control room, field operations, and Customer Use Point building
  • Ensure production goals are met while maintaining efficiency, reliability, and gas purity standards
  • Review plant performance, operating trends, and equipment status to optimize operations
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for plant upsets, equipment failures, and customer supply issues
  • Further, you will oversee analytical equipment performance at the Customer Use Point building and ensure semiconductor-grade requirements are met
  • Serve as a liaison between plant operations, engineering, and customer technical teams
  • Support audits, quality reviews, and incident investigations with customer representatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental permits, quality requirements, and company policies
  • You will also maintain accurate QA, PSI, variance, maintenance, and compliance records
  • Collaborate with maintenance, reliability, and engineering teams to plan outages, inspections, and projects

What makes you great

  • Youwill bring a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with three to five years ofexperience, or five to ten years of relevant plant operations experience withproven management capability
  • You shall have strong knowledge of analyzers and sampling systems, control room systems (DCS/PLC), and field operations
  • Knowledge of air separation or similarcomplex process control systems, industrial instrumentation, and generalmaintenance of compressors and related equipment
  • Experience with quality systems, safety programs and regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead troubleshooting and problem-solving activities
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills along with theability to read and revise engineering drawings such as piping andinstrumentation diagrams and schematic wiring diagrams
  • Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop a multi-skilled workforce
  • You have strong communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, contractors and customers
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 production environment with occasional off-hours support as required
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications, process control systems, and maintenance and compliance documentation, with strong communication skills across teams
  • You are recognized for being dependable, honest, safety‑focused, andself‑directed with the ability to plan work, manage projects, and maintainhigh standards of quality control
