Job summary

Linde plc is seeking a skilled Instrumentation & Electrical Maintenance Technician in Texas City to calibrate and service process instrumentation, troubleshoot using P&ID diagrams, and ensure safe operation of low-voltage systems and valves.

The role requires hands-on experience with calibration tools and diligence in documentation, with opportunities to support Operations and other crafts while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of direct experience in industrial instrumentation and electrical maintenance.
• Read and interpret P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams.
• Strong organization, planning, and communication skills.
• Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and calibrate pneumatic, electronic instrumentation.
• Repair Predictive Program instrumentation and document repairs.
• Troubleshoot systems using SWD and P&ID diagrams.

Job description

• You will always maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness while troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining pneumatic, electronic, analog, and digital process control instrumentation
• Repair Predictive Program instrumentation and document repair history in the CMMS system as required by site-specific documentation
• Troubleshoot systems utilizing Schematic Wiring Diagrams (SWD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) as they relate to process control
• Further, troubleshoot, maintain, and perform minor repairs of low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below),Automatic Control Valves, and related equipment
• Perform day-to-day Process Analytical Equipment Calibration and Maintenance, including Thermal Conductivity, Flame Ionization, Paramagnetic, Electrolytic, Fuel Cell, and Gas Chromatography process analyzers
• Also, schedule and perform maintenance of electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatic instrumentation, control valves, motor control systems, low voltage electrical distribution, computer interfaces, and analytical equipment; climb ladders, stairways, and man-lifts as needed, instruct contract personnel on safety rules, and maintain a valid state-issued driver license

What makes you great

• You have a High School Diploma or equivalent required, with an Associate in Applied Sciences Degree (Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics) or equivalent apprenticeship/education preferred
• Three or more years of direct experience in industrial instrumentation and electrical maintenance, with proficiency using hand tools, multimeters, instrument calibration equipment, Meggers, and similar tools
• Possess strong working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems, and motors, with proficiency in reading/interpreting P&IDs, schematic wiring diagrams, electrical single lines, and PFDs
• Demonstrate strong organization and planning skills, computer skills, and written and oral communication skills
• Moreover, demonstrate the ability to function as a self-starter in a team environment, supporting Operations and other crafts, with strong troubleshooting skills
• You are comfortable working at heights and/or in confined spaces
