Your role in the store will be to assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in providing high-quality meat and seafood products.

Meat and Seafood Assistant

Part Time/Full Time – Entry Level

Reports Directly To

Meat Department Manager

Daily Operations

• Providing exceptional service to all customers and sharing your expert knowledge on meat and seafood
• Assisting the Meat Manager in completing daily duties
• Receiving trucks and breaking down loads into coolers
• Properly pulling and rotating meat case stock

Company Standards

• Following all safety guidelines and avoiding use of equipment if safety mechanisms have been bypassed
• Reporting any missing or non-functional safety mechanisms to the Meat Manager
• Using the markdown program according to department policy
• Staying up to date with the latest training and knowledge for meat and seafood
• Following all company policies, including dress code, wearing a name tag, and completing required training for the meat department

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 60 lb. boxes occasionally and exert 25-60 lbs. of force frequently, and 10-20 lbs. constantly while handling materials. Must have dexterous use of both hands, stand and move about various workstations, and lift, carry, push, and pull items. Ability to use knives and other sharp instruments is required.

This is medium work requiring good vision, hearing, and physical ability to lift, carry, stoop, kneel, stand, reach, push, and pull, sometimes on slippery floors.
