Meat and Seafood Assist

Part Time/Full Time – Entry Level

Reports Directly To: Meat Department Manager

Daily Operations

• Providing exceptional service to all clientele and sharing your expert knowledge on meat and seafood.
• Assisting the Meat Manager in completing all their daily duties.
• Receiving trucks and breaking down the loads into coolers.
• Properly pulling and rotating meat case stock.

Company Standards

• Following all safety guidelines and avoiding use of equipment if safety mechanisms have been bypassed.
• Reporting any missing or non-functional safety mechanisms to the Meat Manager.
• Using the markdown program according to department policy.
• Staying up to date with the latest training and knowledge for meat and seafood.
• Complying with all company policies, including dress code, wearing a name tag, and completing all required training for the meat department.

Physical and Basic Functions Requirements

Must be able to lift 60 lb. boxes occasionally, exert 25-60 lbs. of force frequently, and 10-20 lbs. constantly while moving and handling materials. Must have dexterous use of both hands, stand and move about various workstations, and work with knives and sharp instruments used in food preparation.

This is medium work requiring good, corrected vision, hearing, and the ability to lift, carry, stoop, kneel, stand, reach, push, and pull, including working on slippery floors.
