Job summary

TSC's AISR Division in Arlington, VA seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate and test software for UAS platforms. The role focuses on embedded systems, autonomous vehicle software, and rapid prototyping within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with software for autonomous systems, payload and sensor integration, and air vehicle development. A Top Secret DoD clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoD security clearance.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, MATLAB, JavaScript.
• Experience with embedded systems for autonomous vehicles.
• Software engineering foundation: core concepts in data structures, algorithms, analysis, optimization, testing.
• Applied mathematics, differential equations, linear algebra, and statistics.
• Basic software programming of electrical components, data retrieval and evaluation, and device settings changes.
• Ability to communicate effectively in an engineering environment and document work clearly.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain clean, well-documented, efficient code for embedded systems.
• Assist in debugging and testing a larger codebase with a multi-developer team; conduct developmental tests to identify and fix issues.
• Support detailed software system components and development activities for UAS platforms, including analysis, prototyping, end-item development, and field testing.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team locally and across locations.
• Work with product owners to build software solutions for corresponding requirements.
• Create workable software solutions in rapid timelines to support requirements and troubleshoot real-world challenges.
