Job summary

U-Haul is hiring for an on-site Equipment and Customer Service Associate in Ohio. You will assist customers, manage rentals with U-Scan tech, move and hook up trucks, and perform equipment inspections to ensure safety and readiness.

You will also handle invoicing, propane filling, hitch wiring, and forklift operations, while continually updating knowledge through U-Haul University and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
• Ability to work around moving parts or machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals, with required protective clothing or gear.
• Ability to remain stationary for long periods and move around indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights.
• Ability to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs., assisted or unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
• Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services.
• Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
• Install hitches and trailer wiring.
• Fill propane.
• Drive a forklift.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
