Job summary

Atlas is seeking a CMT Technician to support critical transportation infrastructure projects across Texas. The role focuses on construction materials testing, inspection and documentation to ensure quality and compliance with TxDOT specifications.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, TxDOT Level 1A/1B and ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I certifications, and at least 2 years of experience in materials testing or inspection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or related degree is a plus.
• TxDOT Level 1A, TxDOT Level 1B, ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I certifications are required.
• Minimum 2 years in construction materials testing or inspection.
• Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions with safety in mind.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
• Knowledge of TxDOT specs and testing procedures preferred.
• Preferred SB-102 and Nuclear Density Gauge Safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials in line with TxDOT, ASTM, and AASHTO standards.
• Inspect roadway, bridge, and site development work to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Document testing and inspection results using digital reporting systems.
• Review plans, specifications, and testing requirements to support accurate execution.
• Communicate results, observations, and issues clearly with project teams and clients.
• Maintain equipment, calibration records, and follow all safety practices on-site.
• Assist with project scheduling and coordination of field personnel.
