Job summary

Boutique Recruiting is seeking a Hybrid Litigation Attorney for a defense firm in California. You will manage a caseload from inception to resolution and handle pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trials in insurance defense, habitability, and product liability matters.

The position offers a hybrid schedule (2-3 days in the office) with optional remote work for experienced candidates, near Los Angeles or San Francisco; occasional in-person site visits and court appearances may be required.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school required.
• 2-8 years of litigation experience in general insurance defense.
• Active California Bar membership required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 8-30 cases from inception through resolution.
• Handle pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Represent clients in insurance defense matters including habitability, premises and product liability.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with regular communication and reporting.
• Collaborate with 1-2 Partners with support from an experienced legal assistant/paralegal.
• Participate in site inspections, depositions, mediations, and occasional in-person court appearances.

Position Title: Hybrid Litigation Attorney

Salary Range: $135,000 - $200,000 / Year, DOE

A well-established, high-performing defense firm specializing in insurance defense, habitability, personal injury defense, premises liability, and product liability is seeking 1-2 Litigation Attorneys to join its growing team. The firm offers a flexible work environment with hybrid schedules (2-3 days in the office preferred) for attorneys near Los Angeles or San Francisco, while also considering fully remote candidates anywhere in California who are experienced enough to work independently. Remote attorneys must be available for occasional in-person site inspections, depositions, court appearances, or mediations as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 8-30 cases from inception through resolution
• Handle all aspects of litigation including pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, mediations, court appearances, pre-trial preparation, and trial
• Represent clients in insurance defense matters including habitability, premises liability, product liability, and personal injury defense
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and timely reporting
• Work closely with 1-2 Partners while receiving dedicated support from an experienced legal assistant/paralegal
• Participate in site inspections, depositions, mediations, and occasional in-person court appearances when necessary

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school
• 2-8 years of litigation experience in general insurance defense, especially landlord-tenant, habitability, products liability, or premises liability.
• Candidates with strong civil litigation or personal injury defense experience will also be considered
• Active California Bar membership with recent California litigation experience
• Ability to independently manage cases and quickly become productive
