Job summary

State of Colorado seeks a part-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students who are blind, low vision, or deafblind across Colorado. This role provides instructional support, assessments, and guidance from birth through age 21, collaborating with districts, BOCES, and families.

The TVI helps create inclusive learning environments, coordinates with teams, and develops ECC programming. Travel across the state may be required, with a focus on equity and access to education for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education or closely related field with specialization in Education of the Visually Impaired.
• Must hold or be eligible for CO educator licensure endorsed as Special Education Specialist: Visually Impaired.

Responsibilities

• Provide standards-based instruction and assessments aligned with IEP/IFSP.
• Prepare lesson plans and adapt materials for onsite, virtual, and community-based environments.
• Coordinate with educational staff and families to support student success and program goals.
• Submit progress notes, data reports, and billing records on schedule.
• Develop and deliver statewide professional development for educational teams.
