Job summary

Candor Consulting & Diagnostics seeks a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students with visual impairments. You will collaborate with ARD to develop IEPs/IFSPs and deliver Braille literacy, assistive technology, and life skills. Strong knowledge of IDEA and ARD processes is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Vision Rehabilitation, or related field is required.
  • Master’s degree in Education of Students with Visual Impairments is preferred.
  • Texas Educator Certification in Visual Impairment (EC-12) required.
  • ACVREP Orientation & Mobility Specialist certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop IEPs and IFSPs with ARD committees.
  • Deliver core and expanded core curricula including Braille literacy and assistive tech.
  • Monitor progress data and adjust strategies to meet IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families.
  • Advocate for accommodations and accessibility to ensure equity.
  • Prepare students for post-secondary education and independent living.
