Job summary

The Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) invites applications for a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) to serve K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired. Deliver standards-based instruction, align with IEPs, and use ECC and assistive tech to improve access and independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Visual Impairment Education or closely related field.
• Must hold or be eligible for Colorado educator licensure.
• Endorsement as Special Education Specialist: Visually Impaired within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with standards and IEPs.
• Develop lesson plans and adapt materials for accessibility.
• Assess progress and inform instruction with data.
• Create a positive, safe learning environment with appropriate supports.
• Provide ECC and assistive technology-based instruction for visually impaired students.
• Support development of access, independence, and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families.
