Moraine Valley Community College is seeking a Tutor/Learning Assistant for the Academic Skills Center at the Main Campus. The role supports students with their academic work, fosters clear communication, and assists instructors within a collaborative environment.
Work hours align with Fall/Spring limits (up to 20 hours/week) and Summer (up to 25 hours/week). Requires enrollment in 6+ credit hours during fall/spring and 3+ during summer, with a GPA of 2.0+.
During the Fall and Spring, student employees are allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours per week and must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours. During the Summer, holiday break and spring break student employees are allowed to work a maximum of 25 hours per week. Summer only, students must be enrolled in 3 or more credit hours. Student employees must always maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

This position covers our Learning Assistants Program that puts a “more capable peer” in classrooms to assist instructors with content knowledge sharing. All employees are nominated by an instructor to obtain this assignment. This position may require a background check. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
