Job summary

Catapult Learning is hiring a part-time Tutor in Bridgeport, CT to provide contracted instructional services in reading, mathematics, and writing. Some positions are available in Norwalk and Newtown, with occasional local travel required.

This role pays $35/hour. You will diagnose skill deficits, coordinate with school staff, communicate progress to families, prepare lesson plans, supervise sessions, and maintain student files in compliance with applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Non-licensed tutors: associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution, or at least two years of study (48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours)
• Licensed tutors: teachers with proper CT state credentials also qualify
• Must complete an FBI/BCI background check
• Teaching experience preferred

• Communicate and conference with parents, providing information on student progress
• Attend training sessions and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills using Company-designed materials
• Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans
• Ensure supervision of students, including escorting students safely to and from sessions
• Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the Company and local, state, and/or federal agencies
