Job summary

Catapult Learning seeks a part-time tutor in Meriden, CT to provide instruction in reading, mathematics, and writing. Some positions may be in Hamden, with occasional travel.

You will diagnose learning skill deficits, consult with school staff, and report progress to parents, while following company materials and training programs to support student growth.

Qualifications

• Non-licensed tutors must have an associate degree or two years of study.
• Licensed tutors may qualify with CT state credentials.
• Must complete FBI/BCI background check.
• Teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional methods.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate student services.
• Communicate progress with parents and conference on student status.
• Attend training and deliver designated instructional models.
• Develop and maintain lesson plans tailored to student skills.
• Supervise students and escort safely to and from sessions.
• Maintain student forms and files per company and regulatory requirements.

Job description

Catapult Learning is hiring a Tutor to provide contracted instructional services in reading, mathematics, and writing in Meriden, CT (positions also available in Hamden; some travel may be required). This part-time position pays $35/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the Company
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate efforts in providing services to students
• Communicate and conference with parents, providing information on student progress
• Attend training sessions and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills using Company-designed materials
• Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans
• Ensure supervision of students, including escorting students safely to and from sessions
• Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the Company and local, state, and/or federal agencies

Qualifications:

• Non-licensed tutors: associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution, or at least two years of study (48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours)
• Licensed tutors: teachers with proper CT state credentials also qualify
• Must complete an FBI/BCI background check
• Teaching experience preferred
