Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• 1–4 years of experience in the skill level specified.
• A-class Pipefitter requires basic knowledge of field drawings, sketches and engineering drawings.
• Ability to connect flange pipe connections using cross pattern bolting technique.
• Read and utilize a tape measure properly.
• Read a framing square for pipefitting tasks.
• Proper use of power tools to prepare pipe for cutting, welding, threading and bolting.
• A-class pipefitters must make accurate weld fit-ups.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and safety policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and coordinate with other workers.
• Selects and inspects safety gear and materials per job specs.
• Cuts, threads, and bends pipe and assembles fittings.
• Installs piping and related equipment, tests for leaks.
• Ensures compliance with safety requirements and procedures.
