Job summary

Delve Underground is seeking a Construction Inspector to inspect and monitor heavy civil construction projects, including water, wastewater, and transit work, at field offices. The role requires extensive tunnel project exposure and the ability to work across multiple site locations.

The successful candidate will have at least ten years in heavy construction with five in tunnel inspection, and must demonstrate strong communication skills and familiarity with standard software tools.

Qualifications

• Experience on at least two tunnel projects, including trenchless tunneling.
• At least ten years of recent heavy construction experience with at least five years in tunnel inspection of large and complex projects.
• Preferred current First Aid and CPR training recognized by OSHA.
• Knowledge of construction-related processes and industry practices.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment and meet physical demands (walking, standing, lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing ladders, etc.).
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook; Visio, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor construction contractor's work and prepare daily inspection reports, including labor, equipment and materials; review contractor reports.
• Review and provide input into field-related Submittals, RFIs, plan clarifications, geotechnical information and CPM schedules.
• Monitor contractor's receipt inspection of materials arriving on-site; monitor off-site production activities and other construction activities.
• Monitor construction progress for compliance with Contract Documents, safety standards and agency requirements.
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment and comply with safety policies and procedures.
• Utilize Agency/client Project Information Management System (PIMS) and other electronic systems for preparing Inspection Reports.
