Job summary
Delve Underground is seeking a Construction Inspector in our Chicago office to support water and wastewater projects. You will inspect field activities, review submittals, and monitor safety and schedules on-site. Three+ years in heavy construction with tunneling experience is required, including trenchless projects.
Strong reporting, communication, and PPE readiness are essential. The role is on-site in the Chicago area with possible shift work.
Qualifications
- Three+ years in heavy construction with tunneling or pipelines.
- Experience on at least one tunnel project including trenchless work.
- Knowledge of construction processes and industry practices.
- Ability to wear PPE and meet physical demands.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook; Visio/AutoCAD/Bluebeam preferred.
Responsibilities
- Observe and report contractor work; prepare daily inspection reports.
- Review field submittals, RFIs, plan clarifications, CPM schedules.
- Monitor material receipt and on-site activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and contract documents.
- Promote a safe work environment; use project information systems.
