Job summary

Delve Underground, a leader in underground and heavy civil engineering, seeks a Construction Inspector/Field Engineer for our New York office within the Construction Management Practice. The role involves work on water/wastewater or transit shaft and tunnel projects, with potential travel to other sites.

The candidate should have 0–5 years of experience in heavy construction, with tunnel or trenchless experience valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• 0-5 years of recent experience in heavy construction, inspecting tunnels or pipelines for large projects.
• Experience on heavy civil/tunnel projects including trenchless tunneling preferred.
• Knowledge of construction-related processes and industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist inspectors, senior inspectors and Resident Engineer with observing and documenting construction activities.
• Prepare daily inspection reports including labor, equipment, and materials tracking.
• Observe construction work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and safety requirements.
• Review contractor documentation such as submittals and field reports.
• Monitor materials delivered to site and verify quantities and quality.
• Maintain project documentation using internal and client systems.
• Promote a safe work environment and comply with safety policies.
