Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer to lead requirements, design, and integration of complex DoD/IC IT and mission systems. You will collaborate with government stakeholders and program leadership to ensure security and operational readiness across classified and unclassified environments.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in defense engineering, a TS/SCI clearance, and strong SELC expertise, with hands-on experience in Linux/UNIX and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
• 8+ years in DoD/IC systems engineering environments.
• Strong knowledge of SELC, requirement traceability, and architecture methods.
• Experience creating system requirements specs, architecture docs, and I&T plans.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams across multiple domains.
• Experience integrating complex systems into operations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements, CONOPS, and architectures to draft system requirements.
• Lead system design, development, and integration activities.
• Guide stakeholders on feasible technical approaches and trade-offs.
• Provide technical leadership across SE lifecycle; ensure security compliance.
• Integrate new capabilities into ongoing operations and environments.
• Maintain architecture documentation and SEMPs / ITS plans.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders on risks and issues.
• Communicate status and recommendations to leadership.
• Provide Tier 3 support for Linux/UNIX, Windows, Azure, AWS as needed.
• Support DoD cybersecurity, engineering, and operational standards.
