Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator / Help Desk Engineer to support a cutting‑edge Agile software development program for an Intelligence Community customer.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and will ensure the stability, security, and performance of cloud and on-premises environments, enabling mission users and Agile teams. Shifts start at 6 AM EST or end at 10 PM EST, in a fast-paced, classified setting.

Qualifications

• Linux and Windows system administration experience.
• Experience architecting server, storage and virtualization infra (VMware, KVM).
• Automation and scripting with Ansible, Bash, PowerShell and Python.
• Cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and hybrid environments.
• STIG, RMF and security hardening requirements.
• Enterprise networking, identity/access management and storage concepts.
• Experience supporting IC or DoD classified environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems operations to ensure availability, reliability, and security of infrastructure supporting analytics, software development, and data services.
• Administer Linux and Windows systems; diagnose hardware, software, and end-user issues and manage tickets to resolution.
• Architect and manage server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure (VMware, KVM).
• Install, configure, harden, and patch OS in accordance with DoD STIGs.
• Monitor and tune system performance via root-cause analysis.
• Maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code (Ansible, PowerShell, Bash).
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintain system documentation and configuration baselines.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, network engineering, and software teams.
• Lead deployment of system enhancements and modernization initiatives.
• Participate in security audits, incident response, and operational readiness.
