Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator / Help Desk Engineer to support a cutting-edge Agile software development program for an Intelligence Community customer. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and will ensure stability, security, and performance of cloud and on-premises environments.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+, CASP+, CISSP).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems operations and ensure availability, reliability and security of infrastructure supporting geospatial analytics, software development, and data services.
• Administer Linux and Windows-based systems; diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and end-user issues while managing support tickets through resolution.
• Architect and manage server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure (VMware, KVM).
• Perform OS installation, configuration, hardening, and patching in compliance with DoD STIGs.
• Monitor and tune system performance through root-cause analysis.
• Maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code (Ansible, PowerShell, Bash).
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintain system documentation and configuration baselines.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, network engineering, and software development teams.
• Lead deployment of system enhancements and modernization initiatives.
• Participate in security audits, incident response, and operational readiness activities.
