Job summary

Conceras, LLC seeks a Systems Network Engineer to support the DoS DT program in Washington, DC. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining LAN/WAN, ensuring security compliance, and advising on network best practices for federal environments.

The role requires TS/SCI eligibility and hands-on experience with government networks, monitoring tools, and modern networking protocols. On-site work at the DoS building is expected with a strong security mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years of experience; or a master’s with 3+ years.
• Minimum of 4 years IT network engineering support experience (Tier II/III, infrastructure, maintenance).
• 3+ years with Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst, DoD Network Standards (STIGs).
• Experience with government customers in secure environments; familiarity with NIPRNET/SIPRNET operating standards.
• Quality assurance reviews of engineering change orders for perimeter security hardware/software.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis, risk identification/mitigation.
• Knowledge of cabling standards (fiber/copper).
• Experience with network monitoring tools (HP OpenView, STORM, AWS, NeuralStar).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design, document, install, test, and troubleshoot network components and systems.
• Monitor, tune, and maintain network performance; set standards across infrastructure.
• Provide client consulting and training on network architectures and best practices.
• Plan, evaluate, and recommend new network and storage technologies.
• Use monitoring tools to identify, isolate, and resolve network issues.
• Develop solutions to operational challenges within existing equipment constraints.
• Create contingency plans for hardware failures and outages.
• Offer internal consulting and support to developers, IT operations, and stakeholders.
