Job summary

General Dynamics IT seeks a Systems Engineer to support an IT enterprise with a focus on network and system design. You will ensure security and reliability across Windows, Linux, and OSX environments, and work on Hyper-V/VMware virtualization, AD/SCOM/VMM management, and SAN deployments.

Location is Chantilly, VA, on customer site, with US citizenship required. Applicants should have 10+ years of relevant experience, strong scripting capability, and experience migrating Hyper-V environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Systems Engineer experience in IT enterprise environments.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, and OSX operating systems.
• Experience with Hyper-V, VMware ESX and VirtualBox hypervisors.
• Experience with Cisco IOS/NexusOS and storage networks.
• Experience with Active Directory, SCOM and VMM for management.
• Experience with LAN/WAN deployments and DR architectures.
• Ability to evaluate hardware/software against customer requirements.
• Security clearance TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Identify technical or security problems and provide documented responses.
• Support technical requirements management.
• Perform complex problem management research and issue resolution.
• Design, engineer, test, and implement migrations of Hyper-V VMs (Windows 2008 to 2012 R2).
• Design, engineer, implement, and maintain COTS/GOTS applications.
• Assist with automation of administrative tasks through scripting.
