Job summary

Leidos seeks a motivated TS/SCI cleared Network Engineer to support installation, configuration, and day-to-day management of enterprise networks at Langley AFB, VA. The role emphasizes SSR/128 Technology and vendor experience in a DoD environment.

On-site duties include configuring routers/switches, policy design, VLANs, and ongoing security controls. Candidates should possess OSI/TCP/IP fundamentals and be prepared for an on-site, on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience; advanced degrees possible.
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT II-CompTIA Security+ CE minimum.
• Strong understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, static routing).
• Practical LAN switching experience on Juniper EX Series or Cisco Catalyst platforms.
• Ability to work in a DoD security-conscious environment and communicate in a team setting.
• Certs like JNCIA/JNCIS-ENT or CCNA preferred or in progress.
• Exposure to Session Smart Router (SSR) platforms and WAN traffic steering.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage routers, switches, and SSR appliances across enterprise and edge networks.
• Design and implement routing policies and traffic steering on SSR/128 Technology platforms.
• LAN switching administration: VLANs, STP, trunking, port security on Juniper/Cisco gear.
• Troubleshoot OSPF/BGP across WAN and data centers.
• Monitor network health with management tools; perform root-cause analysis.
• Maintain security with ACLs, VPNs, and IPsec configurations.
• Perform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle maintenance per change control.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, inventories and SOPs.
• Coordinate with senior engineers, admins and security staff to resolve incidents.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
