RTX seeks a Sr. Linux System Administrator in Richardson, TX to support a classified Raytheon program. You will build, maintain, and secure IT systems, working with developers and engineers to resolve complex issues in a classified environment.

The role requires TS/SCI with CI poly security clearance, DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification, and 2+ years of relevant experience. On-site, occasional after-hours maintenance, travel, and lifting up to 35 pounds are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph; U.S. citizenship required.
• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND).
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems with patching, LDAP, security hardening.
• Installing, administering, and troubleshooting VMware ESXi/vCenter.

What You Will Do:

• You will be supporting a Raytheon program in a classified environment as a Sr. Linux System Administrator.
• Responsibilities include building, maintaining, and securing Information Technology systems and directly supporting customer mission-critical capabilities.
• You will work closely with program developers and system engineers to research issues, determine root causes and implement solutions to system problems.
• Must be able to support occasional after-hour maintenance and on-call support and must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations.
• Occasional travel may be required for installation support.
• This position is an onsite role.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Must have active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with CI polygraph security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND.
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating/maintaining RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security hardening
• Installing, administering, and troubleshooting recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter)
  

Qualifications We Prefer :

• Deployment and administration of systems in Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)
• Using and developing with automation tools/frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef as well as scripting - particularly in Bash and Python
• Experience administering Windows based systems
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency
• Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
