Job summary

DarkStar Intelligence is seeking a FOIA Redaction Analyst to support an IC customer on-site in McLean, VA. The role involves reviewing and redacting PII and confidential/classified information from sensitive documents per FOIA, the Privacy Act, EO 13526, and related regulations.

Responsibilities include handling complex cases, MDR/ADR reviews, coordinating with IC components and external agencies, ensuring timely actions, and producing error-free documentation.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or 9+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Demonstrated experience supporting FOIA, PA, MDR, and/or ADR case processing, including coordination, documentation, drafting correspondence, and interacting with requesters.
• Strong ability to review sensitive government records and ensure compliance with disclosure, privacy, and classification requirements.
• Excellent written communication skills, with a proven ability to produce error-free, professionally formatted documents.
• Proficiency with case management tools and document‑handling systems; experience with IC or ODNI systems is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to accurately document case actions

Responsibilities

• Respond to public and official requests for review and release of classified and/or sensitive information under FOIA/PA/EO 13526 and IC policies.
• Handle complex cases, including FOIA litigation and appeals, with knowledge of exemptions and requirements.
• Conduct MDR and ADR per EO 13526.
• Coordinate taskings, searches, and document collection across IC components and external agencies.
• Validate adequacy of record searches and ensure facts are captured in case files.
• Review case files to ensure all actions such as search confirmations and communications are complete.
• Monitor progress to meet deadlines and coordinate with government leads.
• Provide high-quality, grammatically correct work requiring minimal editing.
• Submit signed final letters within three business days of government approval.
• Track and update case status using government tools.
• Provide inputs to annual compliance reports as directed.
• Ensure ODNI information cleared for public release is available for inspection/public download
