Job summary

Leidos is standing up a brand-new Agile development team to support federal IT modernization. This ground-floor role is on-site in a secure facility in Washington, DC, with early-stage telework flexibility as the program develops.

The Release Train Engineer will enable PI execution, coach teams in Lean-Agile practices, and collaborate across Scrum of Scrums to deliver value. A TS/SCI clearance and Security+ are required, with extensive agile project management experience.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Current Security+ or higher.
• On-site in Washington, DC with potential telework during development.
• Bachelor's degree with 8–12 years experience, or Master's with 6–10 years (experience may substitute).
• Experience with Agile software development teams (Scrum Master/lead).
• Experience briefing leadership and customer stakeholders.
• Experience using Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong time-management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead Agile Release Train (ART) activities and drive Lean-Agile practices to improve delivery flow.
• Plan and manage software and architecture release schedules.
• Facilitate PI Planning and continuous exploration activities, including pre- and post-PI sessions.
• Coordinate cross-team collaboration through Scrum of Scrums and other forums.
• Consolidate team PI objectives and publish program-level objectives.
• Track feature and capability execution using metrics across Agile and DevOps teams.
• Brief customers and leadership on progress, testing, deployment status, and release readiness.
• Understand the program's complex system architecture to assess risks and customer concerns.
• Coach teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and leaders in agile maturity and practices.
• Promote teamwork and alignment to PI goals.
• Escalate and manage impediments and coordinate critical dependencies.
• Provide resourcing and planning input to resolve bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with the PMO on program execution and test data needs.
