Job summary

Leidos is building a brand-new Agile development team in the Digital Sector to modernize federal IT and deliver digital transformation for critical missions. The Release Train Engineer (RTE) will enable fast-paced PI execution, manage risks, facilitate ART ceremonies, and coordinate cross-team collaboration to ensure value delivery across complex architectures.

Required TS/SCI clearance, Security+ or higher, and on-site work in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Current Security+ or higher.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Washington, DC.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years relevant experience, or master’s with 6–10 years (experience may substitute for degree).
• Experience supporting Agile software development teams in roles such as Scrum Master or project lead.
• Experience briefing leadership and customer stakeholders.
• Experience using Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong time-management skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead Agile Release Train (ART) activities and drive Lean-Agile practices to improve delivery flow.
• Plan and manage software and architecture release schedules.
• Facilitate PI Planning and continuous exploration activities, including pre- and post-PI sessions.
• Coordinate cross-team collaboration through Scrum of Scrums and other forums.
• Consolidate team PI objectives and publish program-level objectives.
• Track feature and capability execution using metrics across Agile and DevOps teams.
• Brief customers and leadership on progress, testing, deployment status, and release readiness.
• Understand the program’s complex system architecture to assess risks and customer concerns.
• Coach teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and leaders in agile maturity and practices.
• Promote teamwork and alignment to PI goals.
• Escalate and manage impediments and coordinate critical dependencies.
• Provide resourcing and planning input to resolve bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with the PMO on program execution and test data needs.
