Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Configuration Manager to stand up a new Agile development team in the Washington, DC area, coordinating CM and release management across complex, security-sensitive environments. You will work with DevOps, engineering, cyber, and operations to ensure disciplined release execution and auditable configurations.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance, Security+ or higher, and a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in CM/release for cloud or mission systems.

• Ability to pass additional suitability screenings
• Experience leading CM/release for complex cloud/mission systems
• Experience coordinating releases across multiple environments
• Experience with Agile/DevOps workflows
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and related traceability tools
• Familiarity with CI/CD, artifact management and deployment pipelines
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience in federal/defense or mission-critical programs

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end configuration management across all environments (dev through IL5/IL6 production)
• Own CM plans, release procedures, baseline controls, governance models, and change workflows
• Manage release calendars, cadences, readiness criteria, deployment windows, cutover and rollback planning
• Coordinate release planning and execution across engineering, DevOps, cloud, data, test, cyber, IA, ops, and customer teams
• Facilitate release readiness reviews, configuration control boards, go/no-go reviews, and retrospectives
• Ensure release packages are complete, documented, and auditable with all components
• Maintain traceability across requirements, defects, risks, and changes using Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket/CI/CD
• Coordinate DoD-aligned security requirements, STIG configurations, vulnerability remediation
• Manage release risks, dependencies, blockers, environment constraints, and coordination gaps
• Provide status on scope, readiness, risks, defects, deployment progress and outcomes
• Develop release dashboards, metrics, and health indicators
• Support audits, customer reviews, and readiness assessments with CM records
• Drive continuous improvement of CM and release processes
• Provide CM/release training and mentoring across teams
• Coordinate with external partners on integration planning and interoperability
