Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in the United States seeks a Service Advisor to sell and schedule required service work for commercial trucks and equipment. You will gather customer details, inspect vehicles, and perform on-the-spot diagnostics using J-Pro, printing reports and referencing service history.

You will advise customers on maintenance per manufacturer specs, create and sign off repair orders, and coordinate with foreman on timelines and payments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of service experience or equivalent education.
• Valid CDL license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Gather customer complaint details and expectations.
• Perform vehicle walk around inspection and verify vehicle information.
• Connect to J-Pro and perform on the spot vehicle diagnostics; print report; reference service history.
• Advise customers on vehicle care and maintenance per manufacturer specs.
• Write up problems clearly on a service input card and obtain signatures.
• Establish promised time based on shop workflow and communicate with foreman.
• Establish payment method and obtain credit approval if needed.
• Create repair orders, secure input cards with signatures, and manage the jacket.
• Monitor repair progress and inform customers of changes to estimates or times.
