Job summary

Rush Truck Centers, in Colorado, is seeking a Service Advisor to sell and schedule required service work for commercial trucks. You will gather customer details, run diagnostics, advise on maintenance per manufacturer specs, and manage repair orders from intake to completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year service experience or equivalent.
• Appropriate manufacturer training.
• Valid CDL license.
• Driving record acceptable to insurer.

Responsibilities

• Gather customer complaint details and expectations.
• Perform vehicle walk-around inspection and verify vehicle information.
• Connect to J-Pro and perform on-the-spot diagnostics; print report and reference service history.
• Advise customers on vehicle care and maintenance per manufacturer specs.
• Write up problems on service input card and obtain customer signature.
• Set promised time based on shop workflow and inform foreman.
• Set up customer payment method and obtain credit approval if needed.
• Create repair orders and file with customer signatures.
• Monitor repair progress and inform customer of changes in estimate or promised time, obtaining authorization for additional work.
