Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is hiring for a Truck Driver Student in Illinois. You will train to obtain a CDL-A, gain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver, and perform required inspections and paperwork under FMCSR rules.

This role includes hands-on loading, safety adherence, and fast-paced coordination with service centers. Eligible candidates receive health insurance from day one, life and disability coverage, and a 401(k) with company matches.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years old.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver's license for a minimum of 12 months.
• Attain a CDL-A permit by the first day of class and endorsements within 90 days: double/triple trailers, tanker and HAZMAT.
• Initiate TSA fingerprint-based background check by second week of class.
• Safe driving record and history.
• Pass a DOT drug test with no positive tests in 3 years.
• Company-paid DOT physical and pre-hire test; perform essential functions with/without accommodation.
• Available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Attend training sessions to obtain a CDL-A.
• Gain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver.
• Perform FMCSR-required vehicle inspections under 396.13.
• Maintain records per FMCSR, DOT and company policies.
• Load/unload freight using a forklift when needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Adhere to company safety policies.
• Maintain contact with service center in a fast-paced environment.
