Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Truck Driver Student in Iowa to begin your path toward a CDL-A. You will participate in training to obtain a CDL-A, gain hands-on LTL driving experience, and operate under FMCSR and DOT rules.

The role requires a 21+ age, 1 year related experience, valid license, TSA background, and the ability to work varied shifts. XPO offers health insurance on day one, life and disability insurance, PTO, holidays, 401(k) with match, and education assistance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience.
• Holds a valid state-issued driver's license for at least 12 months.
• Must attain a CDL-A permit by day 1 and endorsements within 90 days.
• Initiate TSA fingerprint background check by week 2 of class.
• Safe driving record and history.
• Must pass DOT drug test.
• Must pass company DOT physical and pre-hire test.
• Available to work a variety of shifts including days/evenings/nights/weekends.
• Preferred: Class B CDL.

Responsibilities

• Attend training sessions to obtain a CDL-A.
• G...ain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver.
• Perform vehicle inspections under FMCSR 396.13.
• Maintain records per FMCSR, DOT and company policies.
• Load/unload freight using a forklift as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Adhere to company safety policies.
• Maintain contact with service center personnel in a fast-paced environment.
