The Adecco Group is seeking a Troubleshooting Technician in San Diego, CA for a contract role with a $25–$35 hourly pay rate on 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 2pm–10:30pm). You will conduct digital/analog circuit testing, troubleshoot to the component level, and document failures to support root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities include setting up test equipment, calibrating units, logging test data, and ensuring products meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 to 6 years of related experience.
• Electronic Technician Certificate and/or AS Degree in Electronic Engineering preferred.
• Overtime availability may be required.

Responsibilities

Job Details

We have an outstanding Contract position for a Troubleshooting Technician to join a leading Company located in San Diego, CA. Pay Rate:$25 - $35 2nd Shift: Mon - Fri 2pm - 10:30pm The Technician will be responsible for conducting a variety of tests, including manufacturing verification, engineering validation, functional performance, and ground fault isolation on production units. The position will troubleshoot both digital and analog circuitry to the component level, determining the cause of any malfunction and recommending adjustments/repair to restore the product to working order. Technician 4 works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions and determines methods and procedures on new assignments. May be informal team leaders.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various types of standard and specially designed test equipment.
• Identify need for fixtures or equipment needed in support of unique or special testing requirements.
• Calibrate, align, adjust, and perform final functional test for each unit for customer shipment.
• Working from specifications, test procedures, data sheets, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams/schematics, and/or verbal instruction.
• Log production test data, including but not limited to: work order, model number, serial number, test status (pass/fail), and failure mode.
• Diagnose and determine cause and remedy for defective assemblies, parts and /or components; identify, characterize, and document defects to ensure reproducibility of documented defect.
• Troubleshoot to component level for both analog and digital circuitry.
• Report increased trends in failures to appropriate parties , initiating root-cause investigations.
• Perform physical inspection of product to ensure compliance with specifications and cosmetic requirements.
• Operate equipment and instruments safely and according to proper procedures ; exercising the necessary precautions to prevent damage to test equipment and instrumentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Hiring Criteria

• Due to the nature of our programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
• Minimum 4 to 6 years of related experience.
• Technician levels 1-5 will vary based on years of experience and scope of responsibilities.
• Electronic Technician Certificate and/or AS Degree in Electronic Engineering is preferred.
• Available to work overtime.

Desired Qualifications

• Strong Analytical skills, ability to problem solve , attention to detail, and technical acumen.
• Experience in a production test and troubleshooting environment.
• Solid background in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electromechanical equipment to the component level.
• Experience working with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, RMS meters, high power conversion equipment , etc .
• Must be able to identify both surface mount and through-hole components, including component values/color-coding.
• Working experience using mechanical hand tools.
• Must perform moderately complex math and be able to read, understand, and adhere to technical documents and procedures.
• Efficient MS Word and Excel User.
