Job summary

Manpower San Diego is seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to conduct testing across manufacturing verification, validation, and fault isolation on production units. You will troubleshoot analog and digital circuitry to the component level and recommend repairs to restore functionality.

The role requires 4–6 years of related experience, overtime availability, and an AS degree or relevant certification. Shift options include day and evening hours in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of related experience.
• Electronic Technician Certificate and/or AS Degree in Electronic Engineering preferred.
• Available to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various types of standard and specially designed test equipment.
• Calibrate, align, adjust, and perform final functional test for each unit for customer shipment.
• Log production test data including work order, model number, serial number, test status and failure mode.
• Diagnose and determine cause and remedy for defective assemblies and components.
• Troubleshoot to component level for both analog and digital circuitry.
• Report increased trends in failures and initiate root-cause investigations.
• Perform physical inspection to ensure compliance to specification and cosmetic requirements.
• Operate equipment safely and according to proper procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Technician will be responsible for conducting a variety of tests, including manufacturing

verification, engineering validation, functional performance, and ground fault isolation on

production units. The position will troubleshoot both digital and analog circuitry to the

component level, determining the cause of any malfunction and recommending

adjustments/repair to restore the product to working order

Technician works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands

implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions and determines methods and

procedures on new assignments. May be informal team leaders

1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 5:30 am to 2:00 pm

2nd Shift: Monday through Friday 2 pm - 10:30 pm

Overtime: Ability to work overtime Monday through Friday and on weekends as

needed/occasionally

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various types of standard and specially designed test equipment.
• Identify need for fixtures or equipment needed in support of unique or special testing requirements.
• Calibrate, align, adjust, and perform final functional test for each unit for customer shipment. Working from specifications, test procedures, data sheets, engineering

• Diagnose and determine cause and remedy for defective assemblies, parts and/or components; identify, characterize, and document defects to ensure reproducibility of
• Troubleshoot to component level for both analog and digital circuitry.
• Report increased trends in failures to appropriate parties, initiating root-cause investigations.
• Perform physical inspection of product to ensure compliance to specification and cosmetic requirements.
• Operate equipment and instruments safely and according to proper procedures; exercising the necessary precautions to prevent damage to test equipment and instrumentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Due to the nature of our programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
• Must require 4 to 6 years of related experience. Technician levels 1-5 will vary based on years of experience and scope of responsibilities.
• Electronic Technician Certificate and/or AS Degree in Electronic Engineering is preferred
• Available to work over-time.

Desired Qualifications

• Strong Analytical skills, ability to problem solve, attention to detail and technical acumen.
• Experience in production test and troubleshooting environment.
• Solid background in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electromechanical equipment to the component level.
• Experience working with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, RMS meters, high power conversion equipment, etc.
• Must be able to identify both surface mount and through-hole components, including
